Loudoun Gifts For Good was formerly known as the Saint Gabriel’s Alternative Gift Fair. It was founded in 2004 by the Reverend Jeunee Cunningham and a group of dedicated parishioners at Saint Gabriel’s Episcopal Church. In the true spirit of giving, they founded the Fair as the church’s gift to our community. It was Saint Gabriel’s desire to focus on nonprofits serving Loudoun residents. That focus continues.
St. Gabriel’s was instrumental in attracting sponsors including a number of which continue to this day. Those supportive from the beginning include: Bob Miller of Southern Trust Mortgage, Blue Ridge Title and Escrow, and Dr. Gordon Culp, Opthamologist
Having launched the Alternative Gift Fair and made it successful, St. Gabriel’s was content to turn it over to the community.Loudoun Interfaith BRIDGES provided much needed transitional support in 2010 and continues to play a role. Beth Chaverim Reform Congregation has also been exceptionally supportive.
In 2011 participating nonprofits rebranded the Alternative Gift Fair as Loudoun Gifts For Good. The alternative giving theme remains despite the name change. Over time and in an effort to keep up with the times, the online giving component of the fair has been expanded.
Over the years, over $200,000 has been raised in support of local nonprofits serving Loudoun residents.
